What is clear, though, is the DEA’s classification of all cannabis extracts as Schedule 1 controlled substances. Even as more states “legalize it,” all forms of cannabis are still illegal under federal law. And that’s a problem for HempWorx distributors who have to move product. As the DEA spokeswoman told the Port City Daily news site in North Carolina, where marijuana is illegal but decriminalized: “The plant, for human consumption, is illegal, bottom line. If you ship it — then that’s interstate commerce, that’s trafficking, and so that’s a problem.”
Yes. All our hemp crops are grown free of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, so our quality starts with our hemp plants. From the time our hemp oil is harvested to the manufacturing and shipping of our products, we test our hemp oil multiple times to ensure accuracy in potency information and to check for contaminants like pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, and mold, as well as cannabinoid content. We also use a subcritical CO2 method when we extract our hemp oil, instead of harsh solvents. CO2 is a much healthier choice than other potential solvents and is “generally regarded as safe” (GRAS) by the FDA.
1. Is Hempworx a scam? No. CBD oil scams do exist whereby consumers are deceived and grossly overcharged for a poor quality product. Hempworx is a real product of reasonably good quality that is sold to customers that willingly purchase it. Hempworx does sell its products through multi-level marketing (MLM). This is the same sales strategy used by companies like Avon, Doterra, Rodan & Fields, Advocare and a host of others. Each sale is credited to one of their affiliates who receive a commission for the sale. Affiliates are also incented to recruit new affiliates to sell the product. While the MLM business model can be controversial and the authenticity of testimonials from those selling the product can be questioned, that doesn’t make it a scam.
2. Is Hempworx a pyramid scheme? No. Pyramid schemes involve paying commissions to people to bring in new recruits. The new recruits typically have to pay an upfront fee that enriches those that are higher in the pyramid. In many cases, a product doesn’t even exist. The scheme continues until they can no longer get enough new recruits to fund the operation. Again, Hempworx has a real product that is being sold. They charge a small fee ($20) to become a Hempworx affiliate but the focus is on making real sales. So by all accounts, Hempworx is not a pyramid scheme.

It was a lung-busting 2017 for the North American cannabis industry, with marijuana executives stateside holding their collective breath wondering whether the new Trump administration would crack down on legal MJ businesses. Amid the uncertainty, Nevada’s new recreational marijuana industry opened in July with skyrocketing sales, while government officials and regulators in California and Canada […]
There are other, unexpected, costs. Green Roads lost four banks when their risk-management teams decided that Green Roads wasn't a business they wanted to be supporting. The company's Instagram account has likewise been shut down four times, because of legal restrictions on marketing CBD products. Instead of paying standard credit card processing fees of less than 3 percent, Green Roads pays closer to 6 percent.

There are two main compounds found in cannabis: THC and CBD. Both are very effective in managing pain. THC gives us that familiar “high,” while CBD does not. For instance, medicinal CBD oil contains small amounts of THC, so users get all of the benefits of cannabis without altering their state of mind. A Canadian study found no serious side effects of medical cannabis after one year of pain treatment.
But why is hemp illegal in the first place? After all, America was built on hemp, an industrial crop which contains tiny amounts of THC, the chemical compound in cannabis that produces psychoactive effects. Several Founding Fathers grew hemp. Cultivation of hemp was mandated by law in the Massachusetts, Virginia and Connecticut colonies. Beginning in 1631, hemp was legal tender for paying taxes in many of the American colonies and remained so for state taxes until the early 1800s.
