“As we researched hemp food products, the majority of it was as a base ingredient for shakes and smoothies,” says Dolgin. “We believe the next iteration of the hemp market is to go into snack foods, to give it wider penetration into households,” he says. “We’re looking at products like ice cream and beer. We already have a pretty broad product portfolio, and we want to get even more innovative.”
Hempworx’s products have cannabidiol as the main active ingredient.  Cannabidiol is known to have many mechanisms of action.  We list the receptors in the central nervous system which cannabidiol binds to below.  These include cannabinoid receptors, serotonin receptors, and orphan receptors which are related to cannabinoid receptors by their structure.  CBD also modulates opioid receptors by which it affects pain perception.  These are not the only receptors cannabidiol may bind to or affect.

Some CBD products also describe themselves as including or coming from “hemp oil.” In some cases, manufacturers use that term to mean CBD oil, which is oil rich in CBD made mainly from the leaves, resin, or flowering tops of hemp plants. But “hemp oil” more often, and more properly, refers to oil made from the seeds of the plant, and contains only very small amounts of CBD, says Lanier at the Hemp Industries Association. That oil is often included in hemp-based soaps, cosmetics, and similar products.
As a result, customers can now be confident that most companies out there are pretty legitimate in terms of the overall safety of their products. However, you should still keep your eyes peeled and do as much research as possible, as a lot of brands are still selling non-therapeutic hemp seed oils as “CBD oils,” when in fact they contain very little of the active compound at all.
